LIVE WRITE LOVE WRITE

“To make a great film you need three things – the script, the script and the script.”   Alfred Hitchcock

I owe thanks for the endless encouragement from friends, students and colleagues who continue to encourage me to share what insight I have gained from my 20-plus years working in creative writing.

This site will hopefully be a resource for those of you who are pursuing writing either as a hobby or professionally or even a bit of both. But this is not a presumption of being an authority on how to write. It is simply a way to share what I have learned in over fifteen years of teaching creative writing to thousands of students of different ages from all over the world.

Although the focus of this site is to discuss writing, in all of its forms - novel, script, poetry or short stories - it is not restricted to these topics. There is always room to discuss other aspects of life such as wellbeing.

To be able to live the life we want we need to find balance, which can be very difficult in this day and age.

For me, balance is about four quadrants; the physical, the emotional, the psychological and the spiritual. Each need nurturing and, if we take a close look at our lives in the modern world, I think we can each admit that most if not all of these quadrants tend to be largely neglected.

As I continue my journey to rebalance these quadrants through exercise, diet and self healing, I will offer insight into the things I do to achieve the life I wish to pursue. This will also cover the challenges that come with this journey and advice on how to overcome or circumvent them

This is an account of my mission to navigate a life gifted to me through positive decisions on my part and generous acts on the part of others. Hopefully you'll find it useful.
